4oD on new Xbox One

November 8, 2013

UK commercial PSB Channel 4’s on demand service, 4oD, will be available on the new Xbox One console, which launches on Friday 22nd November 2013. Users of Microsoft’s new all-in-one gaming and entertainment system will be able to catch up with their favourite Channel 4 programmes from the last 30 days and enjoy many more shows from Channel 4’s archive upon its release.

In addition to discovering content by day, category and through an A-Z guide, Xbox One users will also be able to select which Channel 4 shows to watch through editorially curated recommendations and collections.

Laurence Dawkin-Jones, Director of Commercial and Business Development at Channel 4 said the broadcaster always strives to be at the forefront of new consumer technology developments, and its team had worked really hard to ensure that 4oD would be available on the console as soon as it hit the shelves. “This new release extends our continuing partnership with Xbox – as 4oD is already available on the Xbox 360 platform – and builds upon our strategy to broaden the reach of Channel 4 content and to make it available where our viewers want to watch it.”

4oD is also available on computers via channel4.com; on Freesat Freetime, Sky, Virgin Media, BT TV and YouView set-top boxes; via apps for Windows 8, iOS and Android devices; and on Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Samsung TV.
