January 13, 2014

RRsat Global Communications Network, a provider of digital content management and global content distribution services to the broadcasting industry, has been awarded a tender by Media Service Support and Asset Management Fund (MTVA), Hungary’s public service media organisation, to expand broadcast of Duna World TV channel and Duna World Radio worldwide. The tender will generate $1.2 million in revenues for RRsat with potential for expansion for an additional period and to $2.5 million overall.

RRsat will provide an end-to-end integrated broadcast solution for MTVA including media processing and preparation services such as content acquisition, closed caption service, EPG service and frame rate conversion, as well as distribution solutions to Australia and the Americas via RRsat’s platforms on Optus D2, Galaxy 19 and Intelsat 21 respectively.

Duna World programming aims to strengthen the national identity of Hungarian people worldwide and to educate them regarding their cultural heritage and language. To effectively reach the emigrant populations in North America and Australia with content that is appropriate to the various demographics, the channel broadcasts in line with local time zones.

“RRsat is pleased to enable MTVA to reach Hungarian communities around the world with high quality television and radio programming,” said Lior Rival, Chief Commercial Officer of RRsat. “The RRsat integrated broadcasting solution was built to allow broadcasters worldwide to expand their reach to new potential audiences, wherever they are, using our advanced technology platform for content management and content distribution that upholds the strictest standards of performance. We are delighted to help bring a slice of home to Duna fans worldwide.”
