65% California broadband homes have connected CE devices

May 8, 2014

Research from Parks Associates finds 65 per cent of broadband households in California have at least one connected CE device, such as a smart TV, streaming media player, or Google Chromecast. The firm reports that 50 per cent of California broadband households regularly use a computer to watch movies and TV programmes, while 23 per cent use a tablet and 18 per cent use a smartphone to watch video content, all slightly higher than the national average.

“California technology companies are at the forefront of the connected home market, with leaders like Roku, TiVo, NETGEAR, Support.com, iControl Networks, and Sling Media creating powerful solutions to meet consumer demand,” said Stuart Sikes, President, Parks Associates.
