Video, music and casual games streaming platform Roku is launching BBC Sport to Roku customers in the UK with the service available on current-generation Roku players including the newly-launched Roku Streaming Stick (HDMI version).
BBC Sport extends Roku’s extensive library of UK content in time for this summer’s football World Cup in Brazil. BBC Sport will provide live coverage of the 31 games that the BBC will air, as well as comprehensive football news, analysis, match stats and live scores.
“The Roku streaming platform offers the best viewing experience and we are pleased to bring more sporting programmes to our UK customers,” said Ed Lee, vice president of content acquisition at Roku. “This new addition brings a wide range of content for sports fans, including must-see sports events that can be watched live or on catch-up.”
BBC Sport is free to download and is available now to UK-located customers from the Roku Channel Store. Hundreds of video clips and highlights are available and users can filter content easily by sport, plus a dedicated filter option for the World Cup 2014 content.
The Roku Channel Store offers more than 750 channels of video, music and games available.
