Clarke appointed Channel Manager at UTV

Paul Clarke has been appointed as Channel Manager for UTV Television in Northern Ireland with responsibility for leading local production output, resources and budgeting.

Clarke joined UTV in 1981 and since then has held a number of key roles within the company, including those of Executive Producer, Channel Editor and most recently Head of Local Programmes. Over three decades he has acquired extensive television experience in roles such as Producer, Director and Editor in a wide range of documentary, studio and outside broadcast programmes and features, including news, sport and entertainment including UTV’s award-winning current affairs’ series Insight.

Michael Wilson, Managing Director, UTV Television said: “This new role is a natural extension to Paul’s existing responsibilities for programming and resources and I am delighted Paul will take charge of the day-to-day operation of the Television division in Northern Ireland. With UTV currently undergoing its biggest ever expansion as we prepare to launch our new UTV Ireland channel on 1 January 2015, Paul will provide strategic guidance to the business on all editorial and regulatory matters in Northern Ireland.”
