Modest growth expected for BSkyB
July 14, 2014

July 25th sees BSkyB unveil its Q4 and end-of-year results. Investment banker Nomura expects modest quarterly growth in net subscribers by about 68,000 (80,000 same period last year) and churn to hold steady at some 11 per cent and close to the previous quarter.
Nomura’s media analyst Matthew Walker is forecasting lower broadband growth than Q3’s 70,000 as the legacy acquisition of O2’s subscribers churn through, and not helped by heavy marketing and promotion from Sky’s numerous broadband rivals.
Walker has trimmed his own expectations for the year as a whole, and now expects 2015 net additions to be nearer 340,000 than his previous 380,000.
