O2 partners with 4Music

July 16, 2014

4Music part of the Box TV Network, announces sponsorship deal with O2 as they join forces to find undiscovered UK vlog talent. Tapping into the global vlogging phenomenon and hunting for a new 4Music social screen star, the O2 sponsored Vlogstar talent competition opened on the 14th of July.

To enter, aspiring vloggers will be invited to tell us what they think is big this summer by sending in a link to their YouTube video to the 4Music and O2 branded Vlogstar hub. The winning vlogger will become the face of 4music.com and receive a triple A pass to 4Music; from show shoots and gigs to interviewing artists.  They’ll also receive a Panasonic HD camcorder, a Samsung Galaxy and O2 Big Bundles SIM to produce their vlogs.

The partnership is designed to raise awareness of Big Bundles from O2, a new tariff aimed at young adults that want to “live big” on a budget. Commenting on the sponsorship Kate Mulligan-Brown, Head of Pay & Go at O2 said: “We were looking for a partnership that will not only brings to life O2 Big Bundles, but also really engages our target audience of 16-24 year olds. As the UK’s largest music channel, 4Music is the perfect fit, tapping into our customers’ passion for music, celebrity and social media.”

Box TV MD, Matt Rennie commented: “Young audiences are now engaging with media differently, they’re not just passively watching content, they’re creators, reviewers and contributors too. Forward thinking brands like O2 know that to really engage with this audience they need to be part of that process and with its social focus the Vlogstar talent search provides the perfect platform for direct engagement.”
