Netgear powers cable gateway for Telstra

Netgear, a global networking company, and Telstra, Australia’s largest telco, have deployed the Netgear DOCSIS 3.0 AC1900 Cable Data Gateway (C6300BD) for the new Telstra Gateway Max.
The companies say this is the world’s first commercial deployment of a cable gateway that provides customers up to three times faster WiFi speeds on their home networks. The new Telstra Gateway Max service combines powerful DOCSIS 3.0 capabilities with next-generation dual-band AC1900 WiFi.
“Service providers are adopting new strategies to deliver products that meet customer needs for speedy and reliable in-home coverage,” said Sridhar Gollapudi, vice president of product marketing for the Netgear Service Provider Business Unit. “To meet that goal, Netgear is pleased to team with Telstra to offer the first 802.11ac 1900 Mbps cable gateway available in the world. The C6300BD puts Telstra customers in the WiFi fast lane and lets them do more with the connected devices in their home.”
