Alpha Networks, Zappware, Siligence partner for Mobistar

September 13, 2014

During IBC2014 Mobistar announces its partnership with Alpha Networks, Zappware and Siligence in the context of the launch of its future interactive television services on the cable network.

Mobistar’s new television and broadband Internet services over the cable network are expected before the end of this year. These services will be among the first of this type in Europe to be based on regulated cable networks. This way, Mobistar will extend its mobile activities for the general public to television and broadband Internet.

In the context of the launch of its cable network offer, Mobistar selected three new partners: Alpha Networks, Zappware and Siligence. Alpha Networks will be responsible for the supply of systems for interactive services management for cable television (ANS Software suite) and becomes the integrator of the global solution of Mobistar’s TV offer. In practice, Alpha Networks will be responsible for round the clock operations. Zappware will supply all user interfaces of the decoders, tablets, smartphones and PCs. Zappware’s user interface is recognised as one of the best TV interfaces on the market, thanks to a unique design and intuitive character. Siligence will supply the new TV decoders for the cable network. This innovative decoder is ready for future technological evolution and is multi-network compatible. The choice of partners for the decoders, the user interface and the operations is an important step in the launch of new convergent offers.

“Through collaboration with Alpha Networks, Zappware, Siligence, SoftAtHome and Viaccess-Orca, Mobistar will offer the best customer experience to Belgian consumers in terms of interactive television services at a competitive price,” said Jean-Marc Harion, Mobistar CEO.

“Alpha Networks provides Mobistar with a complete and efficient Pay-TV subscription and management solution based on our Television centric OSS/BSS (subscriber management). The hosting of all operational services allows Mobistar to launch this revolutionary offering in a short time whilst remaining entirely focussed on its core activities.” said Victor Badin, CEO of Alpha Networks.

« We are happy that Mobistar has recognized the excellence of the Zappware user interface», says Patrick Vos, CEO of Zappware. « Combined with our technical expertise on multiple devices, we are convinced that we can deliver a consistent Mobistar-branded user experience to the end consumer »

“We are extremely proud to have been selected by Mobistar”, said Didier Zwierski, President and CEO of Siligence. “Our advanced HD-PVR solution designed with industry leaders such as Zappware, SoftatHome, and Broadcom will bring best-in-class cable TV performance, advanced home connectivity, ease-of use and flexibility for future services. It will be the perfect carrier to support Mobistar in bringing advanced digital TV services to their subscribers.

Earlier this year, an agreement had been reached with Viaccess-Orca to provide solutions for access control and content security for pay-TV, and with Alpha Networks for the IT infrastructure.
