Levira, a leading independent TV-play-out service provider in Northern Europe, has commenced installation of a new state-of-the-art play-out facility in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. The brand new multichannel play-out facility starts operating in late fall 2014.
Located geographically in the heart of Central Europe, Bratislava has excellent connections to the whole region. Thus the new facility will be very well placed to cover the needs of broadcasters targeting Central-Eastern and Central Europe as well as the Balkan markets.
“Adding a new facility in Bratislava demonstrates our commitment to our TV-clients by providing them with multi-local growth opportunities in Europe. Subscribers expect localized content and channels across all screens, and so do the cable, satellite and OTT platforms. Becoming more local is a one-way street for international and regional networks who want to improve their ratings and business case. Levira with its end-to-end media management, play-out and distribution solution, with a stronger presence in Central Europe, contributes to the ambitions of our partners and clients,” said Mart Einpalu, CEO of Levira.
The new Bratislava facility will have a capacity of 20 channels at start with potential for further expansion. A full range of services for international, regional and local clients will be provided from the new facility: HD-SD linear play-out and opt-out, OTT play-out, encoding, distribution, ingest, QC, archiving and repurposing to name a few. In addition, it will serve as a DR facility for Levira’s main facility in Tallinn, Estonia.
“Since 2007 Levira has developed a state-of-the-art facility, capability, skills and expertise to provide the best TV-channel play-out and media management services. Up to date we have been offering services from our main facility in Tallinn, Estonia, which is perfectly placed to cover Scandinavia and the Baltic regions. Soon Levira’s high-quality and client-oriented services will be better available also for clients in Central and Eastern Europe and in the Balkans,” explained Indrek Lepp, Director of Media Services Division at Levira.
Levira is one of the largest independent TV-play-out service providers in Northern Europe, offering a full range of technical services for broadcasters and media companies. Besides linear channel play-out Levira also provides transcoding for non-linear platforms as well as live streaming services primarily in the Baltic and Nordic territories. Levira offers also networking solutions, data centre and cloud services as well as technical production and transmission of TV broadcasts.
