Cloud-based video encoding company Encoding.com has secured a second round of financing with Harmonic leading the cash injection. The amounts concerned were not revealed.
“The stars have aligned with this investment and we are thrilled to work more closely with the Harmonic team,” said Jeff Malkin, president at Encoding.com. “With the strength of Harmonic’s brand and video product experience along with Encoding.com’s advanced cloud-based capabilities, together we offer the most compelling solution for publishers targeting multi-screen video distribution and video production workflows.”
This Series B investment, led by Harmonic with participation from Encoding.com’s existing investors, follows on the heels of their existing partnership announced earlier this year in which Encoding.com deployed Harmonic’s ProMedia Carbon broadcast toolset via the Encoding.com cloud. The response to this partnership has already made waves attracting the interest of leading video distributors throughout the industry.
Encoding.com is headquartered in San Francisco and has offices in St Petersburg, Russia and in 12 other data centres around the world.
