November 26, 2014

Visible World, a player in targeted TV advertising technology, announced this week that Michael Malcy has joined the company as Senior Vice President, Business Development.

Malcy, who has spent over two decades in the media industry, most recently served as Senior Vice President of Business Development for Alticast, Inc., where he was responsible for Business Development, Marketing and Business Affairs. Prior to Alticast, he was Vice President of Marketing for ADB Americas and Vice President of Worldwide Marketing for Vidiom Systems, an ADB subsidiary.

Malcy brings deep experience in the cable and broadband world. While Vice President of the Digital Convergence Team at Samsung Electronics Product Innovation Lab, he was responsible for introducing the company’s HDTV, MP-3 and cable industry products. He also spent several years at Sharp Laboratories of America where he was responsible for both the formulation of Sharp’s technical position in standards bodies as well as the development of broadband policy. He has an extensive technical background, having participated in CableLabs OpenCable and DOCSIS efforts. He also served as Vice Chairman of the Technical Standards Committee of the Consumer Electronics Association.

A leader in targeted TV advertising, Visible World offers a programmatic ad tech stack called HighYield that includes a number of targeting elements such as household addressability, automated creative versioning, and Smart TV DNA data analysis. Its subsidiary AudienceXpress, a programmatic TV ad platform using Visible World technology, has experienced explosive growth since its launch less than two years ago.

“Michael brings a wealth of experience in the cable, satellite, and broadcast fields,” said Scott Falconer, Chief Operating Officer of Visible World. “His background provides him with a unique perspective on the needs of the industry.”

“I’m pleased to be joining an industry leader in targeted TV, with a reputation for increasing the value of TV ad inventory,” said Malcy. “Visible World is perfectly situated to lead the growth in programmatic and Smart TV and I look forward to helping bring their solutions to the market.”
