Tank Top TV has announced the release of cloud-based API services enabling TV operators to provide their viewers with personalised recommendations for what to watch on live TV.
The new live TV recommendation solution complements the existing personalisation offerings from the company, and was developed in response to customer and market needs. “Recommendations and personalised offerings for real-time programming is the new frontier in TV user experience,” says Tank Top TV CEO, Liz Rice. “We’ve developed our solution to give operators the tools they need to engage users with a more personalised viewing experience.”
A key part of the solution is Tank Top TV’s ‘time-slicing’ approach which enables the system to learn about viewing habits over different times and days of the week. In a household with several viewers, this can help recommend appropriate shows for the people most likely to be in the room at the time.
