March 4, 2015

AOL UK today confirmed the appointment of Hamish Nicklin as Managing Director. In this role, Nicklin will oversee strategic direction of the business and execute core business strategies for AOL UK, driving new business development and sustainability across the company’s content brands, programmatic platforms and video. Nicklin will report directly to Graham Moysey, Head of International, AOL.

Nicklin joins AOL UK from Google UK, where he has held the position of Director of Agency Sales since 2012. Nicklin joined Google in 2006 as Industry Head of Financial Services, before taking on the roles of Head of Public Sector and Government, followed by Head of Creative Agency Partnerships.

Nicklin comes to AOL UK at an exciting time when the company has recorded eight consecutive quarters of revenue growth. AOL UK has seen its audience grow year on year, reaching nearly 23 million unique multiplatform users monthly through its content brands AOL, HuffPost, TechCrunch and Engadget. Premium video platform, AOL On, also launched just under 12 months ago.

Graham Moysey, Head of International, AOL said: “We are thrilled to appoint someone of Hamish’s calibre and experience to AOL UK. His unrivalled leadership skills and proven track record of translating innovative advertising solutions into commercial success are exceptional. As we continue to cement our position as a leader in content brands, programmatic platforms and video, Hamish will be essential to driving AOL UK’s business strategy and output.”

Nicklin will join AOL UK in the first week of June.
