walkingdeadAMC Networks International will launch AMC in Brazil on April 1st. The 24-hour advertiser-supported Portuguese language linear service will be available in HD. AMC will debut on SKY, the country’s largest satellite pay-TV operator, among other subscription television platforms.

The network will also feature the exclusive premiere of The Walking Dead spin-off series (title TBD) later in the year. AMC Global just announced plans to air each episode within 24 hours of its US premiere. AMC will feature other series such as the exclusive original dramas Halt & Catch Fire and The Divide, which are produced by AMC Studios.

Ed Palluth, ‎Executive Vice President of Global Distribution, AMC Networks International commented, “AMC has helped to redefine the broadcasting landscape with some of the most celebrated dramatic storytelling on television in the past decade. We’re excited to extend our partnership with SKY after the successful debut of Sundance Channel in Brazil last year. We’re looking forward to offering audiences across the country the inimitable combination of AMC’s first run original dramas and extensive library of popular movies. We’re thrilled to be the exclusive broadcaster of the companion series for ‘The Walking Dead’ and to bring this show to a global audience within 24 hours of the U.S. premiere later in the year.”
