Unified Streaming has announced that Deluxe OnDemand, a provider of video workflow management and turnkey content-supply solutions, has integrated Unified Streaming software to simplify and enhance the delivery of high quality video content in multiple formats across popular devices. Unified Streaming is focused on creating advanced software for video content re-purposing and delivery enabling services like Deluxe OnDemand to enhance their capabilities while reducing complexity and cost.
The requirements were quite simple but advanced: how to optimize multiscreen delivery of a fast growing catalogue of more than 80,000 titles in combination with new technologies like Common Encryption (CENC), MPEG DASH and 4K UHD.
“The Unified Streaming solution fits well with the Deluxe OnDemand cloud architecture and enables us to support the latest technical advancements required by our customers,” said Todd Collart, General Manager at Deluxe OnDemand. “A key strategic focus at Deluxe OnDemand is to continually invest in advanced technologies and futureproof our customers to offer video anywhere, anytime.”
Unified Origin offers on-the-fly packaging to all major adaptive bitrate streaming protocols, compression formats, and multiple digital rights management (DRM) systems within a single solution. With support for HEVC/H.265 and MPEG DASH, Deluxe OnDemand was able to offer streaming of 4K content for a US-based Tier-1 Cable Operator.
“We see content providers taking ownership of parts in the delivery chain to reduce overall cost and increase flexibility related to the delivery infrastructure” says Simon Westbroek, VP Global Sales Unified Streaming.
“The on-the-fly packaging capability of Unified Origin makes it easy for Deluxe OnDemand to quickly respond to market dynamics. Dropping support for NPAPI standard by Google in Chrome web-browser and using MPEG DASH with Widevine Modular instead of Microsoft Smooth with PlayReady is a perfect example where quick time-to-market is key in keeping and creating loyal customers. Unified Origin has MPEG DASH support since 2011”
