Mediapro puts Barcelona v Real Madrid on planes

March 20, 2015

From David Del Valle in Madrid

The March 22nd football match between Barcelona and Real Madrid will be broadcast on planes for the first time in the history of the Spain’s Football League.

Spanish broadcaster Mediapro has signed an agreement with Turkish Airlines to air in-flight the game between Spain’s biggest two football teams, often dubbed ‘El Clasico’.

A total of 17 intercontinental flights will offer the match becoming the first experience of this type. So far, only the English Premier League or the German Bundesliga have made similar movements to offer live in-flight streams of the matches.

Mediapro will also broadcast the match on 4K to the whole world with a staff of 300, 10 mobile units and over 30 TV cameras. Companies like DirecTV, Canal Plus Poland, beIn Sports Arabic, beiN Sports USA and France will be on the spot at the Barcelona’s stadium to follow the transmission and make the comments.
