VeEX, a global player in Telecom, CATV, Fibre and Broadband Access, has announced the general availability of V-Scope, a powerful fibre connection inspection utility for use with VeEX test sets, smartphone or tablet devices. The V-Scope system provides fast, comprehensive and objective analysis of fibre connector end-faces using hassle-free auto focus image capture technology.
The system comprises the fibre industry’s tried-and-tested VeEX DI-1000 Digital FiberScope, a field portable WiFi unit and a software application installed on the target viewing device. V-Scope is optimized for Fiberizer Mobile, an app available for iPhone, iPad as well as Android mobile devices. End-face images captured in jpeg format can be saved, recalled, compared and uploaded via email, text or directly to Fiberizer cloud for additional processing. Technicians using VeEX testers can connect directly using USB or WiFi connections and have access to the same feature set. V-Scope capabilities include auto image centering, automated pass/fail analysis per the IEC 61300-3-35 standard and report generation via Fiberizer cloud.
“V-Scope is an essential app for inspecting, verifying, and certifying fibre connections and staying connected to back office functions,” said Mike Venter, Vice President of Optical Product Marketing at VeEX. “Leveraging mobile technology and devices to check cleanliness and/or damage and perform end-face analysis makes for simplified operation, saving tremendous time and cost,” he added.
V-Scope, Fiberizer Mobile and Fiberizer Cloud applications will be on display at the OFC Fiber Exhibition and Conference (VeEX Booth # 530) in Los Angeles, California from March 24th to 26th.
