TF1 replay service MyTF1 will launch a new version of its VoD multiscreen service on May 25th making more content available from the group’s four free TV channels (TF1, HD1, NT1 and TMC). Three original digital channels will also be embedded and the service will be compatible with the 4K standard.

While the pay-VoD service MyTF1Vod had a 36 per cent growth over 2014, the group’s free VoD service is far more popular, receiving 1.4 billion video views last year – including more than 40 per cent on IPTV boxes.

The revamped platform will initially be deployed on Bouygues Telecom and Free’s STBs, before reaching Orange, Numericable and Canalsat.

MyTF1 is renewing its content offering to become a content destination for those who want to find a programme, and to attract more millennials. The libraries of the four FTA channels, that amount to 1,500 hours of TV each month, will then be more systematically exploited from the homepage, and more easily accessible in one or two clicks. The platform will also add recommendations based on viewers’ requests.

“Replay viewing is an important complementary audience,” commented Olivier Abecassis, general manager at e-TF1.

The group has also announced the launch of three original digital channels, including lifestyle MCN Finder Studios. Those channels will be hosted under label MyTF1Xtra.

For viewers equipped with fibre and Ultra-HD screens, MyTF1 will also be compatible with 4K – “a premiere in France for a replay service” Tf1 says. However, no content will be available at launch.
