VeEX enhances UX400 Platform with next-gen CFP2 and CFP4 test modules

June 8, 2015

VeEX, a global leader in Telecom, CATV, fibre and broadband access test solutions, has announced two next generation CFP2 and CFP4 transceiver based test modules for the VeEX UX400 Universal Test Platform. These new modules are designed for 100G Ethernet and OTU4 test applications within the data center or core network.

Compared to the CFP form factor, CFP2 and CFP4 transceivers double and quadruple front panel port density respectively. The CFP4 form factor also consumes less power and is half the size of the CFP2 transceiver, which in turn is half the form factor of the first generation CFP module.

Both CFP4 and CFP2 transceiver modules fully comply with latest IEEE 802.3 100G and ITU-T G.709 OTN standards and are compatible with earlier generation CFP modules, ensuring inter-operability and easy deployment especially in OTU4 applications.

“The introduction of the new CFP4 and CFP2 test modules emphasizes our ongoing commitment to the 100G market,” said Ricardo Torres, Director of Product Marketing for VeEX. “We are pleased to offer our strong base of 100G customers worldwide, three different CFP transceiver variants for network equipment development and 100G system rollout. Fully loaded, the UX400 platform can accommodate up to six CFP2 or six CFP4 test ports, making it the most compact and powerful 100G test unit for lab applications,” added Torres.

Demonstration of all three 100G CFP test module combinations will take place during the ANGA COM exhibition at VeEX Booth # 10.2/L31 in the Cologne Messe.
