Netflix has announced that new customers in the UK will now be charged £7.49 (€10.3) per month for the streaming service’s basic HD package, up from £6.99 under the previous pricing structure.
Netflix’s cheapest package – which offers SD playback on one device for £5.99 per month – will remain the same for the time being. The same applies to its premium package, which provides HD and 4K content on up to four devices for £8.99 a month.
In May 2014, Netflix vowed that those paying £5.99 per month will not see an increase for at least two years.
