InPlayer PPV contract with FightBox HD

June 24, 2015

InPlayer, a paywall for video content, has been selected to power the new pay-per-view online that FilmBox Live, the global multi-screen VoD service, is introducing.

FilmBoxLive offers its subscribers non-stop access to several live-streaming channels, as well as an on-demand library of movies, documentaries, sports, fashion and music videos. InPlayer has been working with FilmBox Live the past years, providing the InPlayer technology for FilmBox Live video-on-demand services and monetising all their content across mobile, TV apps and websites. However, this is the first time that FilmBox Live uses a pay-per-view solution.

Jean-Charles Lacoste, CEO of InPlayer, says: “We are very excited to extend our existing relationship with FilmBox Live to support and guide them in their new pay-per-view business model for the FightBox HD channel. We have extensive experience of both the VoD and PPV monetisation strategies across a number of areas and content genres, so we have been able to provide FilmBox Live a secure and reliable end-to-end solution for their new channel dedicated to mixed-martial arts.”

“Online video is exploding and global IP video traffic is estimated to reach 79 per cent of all consumer internet traffic in 2018. As the InPlayer technology can be leveraged across a network of syndication partners, it is proving a powerful ally for content owners in a world where putting the right content in front of the right audience using traditional marketing channels is becoming increasingly expensive. We are delighted to see this being fully appreciated by major sports and entertainment rights holders such as FilmBox Live”, he continues.
