TiVo users now able to stream to Apple TV

July 14, 2015

Next-generation television services specialist TiVo has confirmed that for the first time, TiVo users can access their content on TV via a third party consumer electronics device. TiVo users can now stream their recorded shows to Apple TV via AirPlay. TiVo says its users have yet another way to watch their favourite shows, on another screen, wherever they are.

Through the newly updated TiVo iOS app, TiVo now supports playing recorded content from a TiVo Roamio or Premiere DVRs on Apple TV through an iOS device connected on the same network. When launching a streaming session from the TiVo iOS app, users can now simply enable AirPlay through the iOS control centre, select Apple TV from the menu and toggle the ‘mirroring’ button. Once the device image is duplicated or ‘mirrored’, TiVo users can view content from their favourite TV shows and movies on an Apple TV seamlessly.

TiVo says the update is another example of its commitment to give consumers as many ways as possible to view and enjoy TiVo content from any room, on any device, on any screen, at any time.

The TiVo iOS app is available in the App Store free for purchase or upgrade for existing users.
