The revolutionary ABS-3A satellite is now in full commercial use. The satellite started service on August 31st to serve the Americas, Africa, Europe and the Middle East regions.
Launched on March 1st 2015, the ABS-3A satellite built by Boeing has performed even better than expected having arrived ahead of schedule. In-Orbit tests have been successfully completed and the satellite became fully operational on August 31st 2015.
ABS-3A features 48 C and Ku-band active transponders (96 x 36 MHz equivalent) and is equipped with high performance beams to support the rapidly growing markets in the Americas and Africa as well as the European and Middle East regions. ABS-3A provides expansion capacity to reach markets servicing high-growth data, video, mobility and government applications.
