The collaboration combines Alcatel Lucent’s Cloud DVR and Velocix Content Delivery Network (CDN) with Quickplay’s extensive virtual head-end and 24/7 managed service model. The alliance provides a migration pathway from capital-intensive legacy PAY TV middleware to a modular, multi-vendor approach that gives service providers an option to bypass vendor lock in and rapidly innovate to meet market demands.
