Keepixo, a provider of software-based head-end solutions for IPTV and OTT, and bitmovin, vendor of fastest cloud-encoding platform bitcodin and HTML5/Flash MPEG-DASH and HLS video player bitdash, are providing an end-to-end demonstration of Microsoft PlayReady protection over MPEG-DASH at IBC.

The demonstration is based on a Keepixo video encoder performing multibitrate transcoding and applying PlayReady content protection packaged in DASH-CENC, and bitmovin’s PlayReady-capable DASH player performing un-encryption and display. The process also converts existing subtitles to the EBU-TT-D recommendation (TTML).

“It shows operators how they can deliver their content to OTT formats over the Internet, relying on latest standards, and still secure it with a studio-approved protection such as Microsoft PlayReady.
