GVIDI and Fiber NL have announced a distribution deal that will bring GVIDI metadata of 137
broadcast stations to the Fiber NL customers. The broadcaster metadata will be further enriched by online sources throughout the day, making sure the most recent information of the editorial teams behind the TV programs, is made available to the end consumer of Fiber NL.
Better EPG metadata
‘At the moment, most of the TV consumers in the Netherlands, don’t know what the topics of their favourite show will be tonight, or who will make a guest appearance’, said Tijn Smithuis, Managing Director of GVIDI. ‘Something that we solved by having the right connections in place with the editorial teams of these TV programmes. This way you can make the information of the editorial teams available for the end consumers throughout the day; a process the people within GVIDI master for quite some years now. This will help us in delivering the best EPG information in the Dutch market to Fiber NL’.
Direct channel updates
‘Direct channel updates will be important as well’, said Gaby ter Keurs, Commercial Director of Fiber NL. ‘We know that a TV recording fails when an earlier program, for instance a sport programme, run overtime. With the solution of GVIDI, we know that our EPG schedule updates will be made available immediately, making sure our consumer recordings will always work’.
