Real-time social video specialist Grabyo will again enable Formula E – the electric single-seater car race series inaugurated by motorsport’s governing body – to provide unrivalled behind the scenes footage and produce in-race highlights to be distributed to social media channels including Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Grabyo will continue to allow Formula E to reach fans around the world on social media with engaging video content in horizontal, square and video format – optimised for mobile video consumption.

In the inaugural season of Formula E, Grabyo’s app – Grabyo VIP – was used by the championship as well as the teams and drivers to create, edit and share behind the scenes content. Grabyo VIP will again be used by Formula E to bring fans exclusive access, offering content direct from the pitman and paddock.

Ali Russell, Director of Media and Strategic Partnerships at Formula E, said the championship wanted to continue its pioneering work to be at the forefront of digital content in motorsport. “Grabyo is the leader in real-time native video and allows us to provide our fans around the world with video clips of action, as it happens. Maximising our world-class driver line-up, Grabyo VIP allows us to create a social video ecosystem that powers engagement across all of our digital platforms. Grabyo was an integral element of our digital strategy in season one and we look forward to replicating that success in season two.”

Gareth Capon, CEO of Grabyo, described Formula E as a “ground-breaking and progressive” motorsport series that had showcased an unparalleled approach to digital since its inception. “The first season of the championship took the sports industry by storm, and so to work with the series again to enhance their digital offering for another season is truly exciting for Grabyo. We look forward to helping Formula E, the teams and the drivers produce exceptional social video content.”
