NBCUniversal has further expanded the reach of its TV Everywhere offering by launching NBC and NBC Sports apps on Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick. Amazon Fire TV users can now access their favourite content from these networks on demand, as well as live programming from NBC Sports Live Extra by logging in with their cable, satellite or telco credentials.

The launch of NBC Sports Live Extra on Amazon Fire TV devices comes in time for the upcoming NHL Winter Classic and NBC’s coverage of the NFL playoffs — which includes one Wild Card game and one Divisional game. Live Extra has more than 3,000 live events a year and streams all live sports content televised by NBC, NBCSN and Golf Channel, including: the Summer and Winter Olympics; Sunday Night Football and NBC’s NFL pre-season and post-season coverage; NHL regular-season and post-season games, including the Stanley Cup Final; the PGA TOUR, including the FedExCup Playoffs, and the LPGA; the Premier League; studio content surrounding many of the aforementioned properties; original programming such as The Dan Patrick Show and Men In Blazers; and much more.

“Whether it’s the NHL Winter Classic, NFL playoffs, or this summer’s 2016 Rio Olympics, this agreement with Amazon Fire further allows us to provide our valuable sports content to consumers wherever and whenever they want it,” said Rick Cordella, SVP & GM, Digital Media, NBC Sports Group.

Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick customers who log-in through their pay TV provider can stream full episodes of returning favorites, including “The Voice,” “The Blacklist,” “Chicago Fire,” “Chicago P.D.”,”Law and Order: SVU” and “Grimm.”  In addition, customers can watch shows day-after-air, including “Blindspot,” “Heroes Reborn,” “Chicago Med,” “The Carmichael Show,” “Superstore,” “Telenovela,” and “Shades of Blue.”  Also, Shades of Blue and Telenovela episodes will be available in English and in Spanish.  Full episodes of NBC Late Night programing can also be streamed the next day meaning Amazon Fire TV customers can watch the most shared- and talked-about “Tonight Show,” “Late Night” and “SNL” moments. The NBC App for Amazon Fire TV will offer more than 40 series and 1000 episodes. The NBC library will increase as the season progresses.

“We’re seeing great adoption on the connected device platforms and are very excited to offer the NBC app on Amazon Fire TV, just in time for the holiday binging season,” said Rob Hayes, Executive Vice President of NBC Entertainment Digital. “Amazon Fire TV customers will be able to catch-up with full episodes and clips of NBC favorites such as “Blindspot,” “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “Saturday Night Live” and our newest comedies “Superstore” and “Telenovela.””

Full access to the content on these apps will be available on Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick to cable, satellite or telco subscribers by logging in with their pay TV credentials as part of TV Everywhere, the media industry’s effort to make quality content available to authenticated customers both in and out of the home, and on multiple platforms.

“The NBC and NBC Sports Live Extra apps offer audiences some of the best shows and live sports available and we’re happy to make them available to Amazon Fire TV device customers. This relationship with Amazon will further drive fan engagement with NBC and NBC Sports’ deep lineup of premier programming,” stated Alison Moore, GM and EVP, TV Everywhere, NBCUniversal.
