Spain: TV advertising to grow 6.1% this year

TV ad revenues in Spain are likely to increase by 6.1 per cent this year to €2.060 billion, with the two largest TV groups Atresmedia and Mediaset taking 85 per cent of the ad market, according to a report from the firm Arce Media.
As a whole, the advertising market is expected to grow by 2.8 per cent during this year to reach €4.19 billion – still just half of what was invested in 2008.
2015 was the second positive year in a row, after Spain’s advertising industry shrank between 2008-2013. Investment grew by 5.8 per cent to reach €3.98 billion by December 2015, €1.94 billion of which was invested in TV.
Both free-to-air and pay-TV show 6.9 per cent growth compared to 2014, while Internet platforms are increasingly rising its advertising reach making €434 million in investment in 2015, up by 12.3 per cent.
