March 22, 2016
ABOX42, a supplier of IPTV, OTT and Hybrid-DVB advanced STB solutions has announced that M-net, a German regional Carrier in Munich, has selected the ABOX42 M20-Series Smart STB platform for its new IPTV service ‘M-net TVplus’ which will be deployed across the M-net Fiber in the South of Germany.
M-net is one of the major German Regional Carriers with a modern IP network and more than 20 years of experience in providing best in class services to business-customers and end-users.
The ABOX42 M20 Set Top Box platform is market proven and deployed in various projects worldwide. For the German market the feature set was extended to support all functions required for the German operator market, such as local multi-stream recording on USB Flash devices or USB hard-disk drives, local time-shift support, HbbTV support for all essential German broadcaster, On-Demand & Catch-Up TV offers as well as the integration of German’s leading VoD solution operated by maxdome.
Combining all essential ingredients for an advanced IPTV product and taking care of market specific requirements makes the product proposition very unique. The ABOX42 Smart SDK builds the solid fundament for all essential modern TV features and can be extended to match specific market requirements, all that will short project lead-times and a very competitive total cost proposition.
The ABOX42 M20 Set Top Box platform in combination with Zattoo’s Multiscreen White-Label IPTV solution was selected by Deutsche Netzmarketing (DNMG) end of 2015 to offer a compelling end-to-end solution to all of its members. With M-net’s decision to adopt the solution and deploy it as Multiscreen IPTV solution proves the trend towards fully hosted and managed IPTV multiscreen solutions and towards projects with less complexity for the operator and much shorter time to market.
“We were carefully analysing and selecting the solution for our new M-net TVplus IPTV service. The project was launched only a few months after kick-off and it was delivered in time. This solution helps us to offer a modern TV proposition with many new features. A compelling TV service as well as highly competitive product bundles will help to direct people to M-net”, says Thomas Bichlmeir, responsible for M-net TVplus.
“M-net is an ideal example of a modern operator managing the transformation to full IP services. At ABOX42 we are aware of the very high expectations from operators for an advanced IPTV solution with latest features. To be able to role out such demanding operator projects within a few months, requires very experienced partners and a solid, scalable and customizable solution – and this is exactly what we provide”, said Matthias Greve, CEO of ABOX42. ABOX42’s products and services are used by Telcos, ISP, Cable operators and OTT companies on a world-wide basis.
