Quickplay global strategic partnership with Harmonic

Quickplay, the global expert in powering premium video to any device today announced a global strategic partnership with Harmonic, the worldwide leader in video delivery infrastructure solutions, to offer an end-to-end video architecture to deliver greater optimization, carrier grade scale and performance, with exceptional video quality for Next Generation TV (NGTV).

The partnership will offer operators the best of both leading companies, leveraging the power of Quickplay’s multi-tenant video platform, powered by its software defined headend and integrate extensive features of Harmonic’s video delivery infrastructure solutions based on VOS™, a software-based media processing platform that simplifies workflows and maximizes flexibility in video content provider and video service provider deployments. The ability to scale based on demand will provide significant savings, and pay-as-you-grow model is well suited to existing operating expenditure (OPEX) models and the economics of new OTT service launches. Together, the two industry leaders will combine complementary capabilities to accelerate and evolve new business models in premium online video, delivering unparalleled efficiencies with the power of advanced Harmonic infrastructure and Quickplay’s outsourced managed services.
