Telenor leases bandwidth to Inmarsat

Norway’s Telenor Satellite has leased a major slice of capacity on its latest Thor spacecraft to London-based Inmarsat.
Inmarsat says it has taken a multi-year contract with Telenor for bandwidth on its Thor-7 craft.
The deal means that Inmarsat can boost coverage to its aeronautical clients over Europe and the North Atlantic. The agreement, however, specifically excludes access to Thor-7 for maritime usage by Inmarsat. Telenor is itself focusing on maritime-based traffic.
