Hybrid TV device and cloud solutions Amino Communications has secured a new contract to provide TV devices and its Engage service assurance software to North American service provider MCTV.
Ohio-based MCTV delivers fibre-based broadband Internet, cable TV, Phone and Security services to 47,000 homes and businesses across the five counties it serves.
With the company transitioning to IP delivery for existing and future entertainment service delivery, MCTV was looking for a solution that would combine advanced TV devices, integrated MoCA for content delivery around the home and service assurance tools to manage and monitor in-field device performance.
Amino will provide its latest Kamai 450m and Amulet 455m TV devices to deliver linear-based cable TV service and online video through MCTV’s ‘watchTVeverywhere’ service which enables customers to view their favourite content on mobile and tablet devices. In addition, MCTV will deploy Amino’s Engage platform that will enable MCTV to remotely manage devices in the field for software updates, troubleshoot for performance issues and quality of service delivery.
“We pride ourselves on delivering great quality services to our customers and we were looking for a partner who could provide us with both high quality devices and service assurance capability,” said MCTV’s President Bob Gessner. “We are pleased to work with Amino on this next exciting phase of our development as we move to IP service delivery.”
“MCTV is an ambitious and innovative operator whose vision of future entertainment delivery aligns very closely with ours and we look forward to working with them on their transition to IP service delivery,” said Amino CEO Donald McGarva. “This new contract underlines our ability to now go “beyond the box” with quality devices and software tools to ensure consumers receive an optimal entertainment experience.”
