Portuguese pay-TV operators Cabovisão, Vodafone Portugal and NOS have signed a reciprocal sport content distribution agreement.

The agreement will guarantee customers of the three operators access to sport content already acquired or to be acquired in the future by any of the parts. It also covers distribution of club TV channels.

This includes, starting from the 2016/2017 season, access to Benfica TV and all the Benfica home matches.

Portugal Telecom’s Meo remains the only pay-TV operator not covered by the deal.

NOS and Meo have been at odds regarding sports TV rights, with the latter even suspending the transmission of Porto Canal to the former.

However, a Meo spokesperson confirmed that negotiations are ongoing regarding the content distribution agreement.
