Olympusat to Introduce the Spanish-language Digital Platforms at Montreal World Film Festival

August 24, 2016

Olympusat, the TV and media industry leader specialising in Spanish and English language TV networks, will give a presentation on Spanish-language digital platforms in the U.S. at the 40th annual Montreal World Film Festival, on August 28th.

As part of its efforts to support Spanish-langue films and international cinema, Olympusat will highlight the importance of producing Spanish-language content that caters to the growing Hispanic population in the United States.

“We have created a presentation that details how Olympusat’s networks have served to promote Spanish-language and Hispanic culture in the U.S., just as we did in Cartagena and Málaga,” said Jesus Piñango, Director of TV Content Strategy at Olympusat. “We are going to be presenting our OTT TV Everywhere platform, VEMOX, as a way to access Spanish-language content anywhere, anytime,” added Piñango.

During the festival, Piñango will also feature Olympusat’s devotion to the restoration of classic Latin American and Spanish motion pictures, and its commitment to dubbing movies and soap operas from Brazil, Asia and Europe into Spanish.

“The Montreal World Film Festival (MWFF) welcomes Olympusat, as it has always supported Hispanic cinema,” stated Serge Logique, Director and Founder of MWFF. “Since the beginning the festival has recognized the very best of Latin American cinema with the Glauber Rocha Award.”

The Montreal World Film Festival is a competitive film festival that contributes to cultural diversity by stimulating the development of quality cinema. This year the festival will showcase movies from around 80 countries, and it will be held from August 25th through September 5th.
