mimik, Zappware strategic partnership

August 31, 2016

mimik and Zappware have announced a strategic partnership in which mimik’s micro-cloud solution will be offered through Zappware’s technology platform. The partnership will enable operators and STB manufacturers to deliver innovative services around discovery, connection and communication between devices — mobiles, tablets, laptops etc. regardless of their operating system.

In addition to the Zappware user interface, the joint solution provides advanced network functionality enabling users to effortlessly and securely connect all their devices and access their entire media libraries — videos, photos, music — from any connected device. Content can reside on any of the devices and will still be accessible through any other connected device such as the STB.

“End-users have been struggling to seamlessly access and share their media library across devices, specifically towards the TV screen.  The integration of the mimik software solution makes it easy and truly seamless, without the need of any extra hardware (e.g. dongle) and is very Telecom Operator-friendly in that sense. We captured very good feedback from end-users and Service Providers so far. What seams to be very appealing are the both in the home as well as out of home use cases. We anticipate Quadplay service providers to embrace these use cases,” said Patrick Vos, CEO of Zappware.
