November 1, 2016

Float Left, a provider of TV Everywhere and OTT video application solutions, is expanding its presence in North America, announcing plans to open an office in Toronto, Canada and appointing Scott Murrow as Vice President of Sales for the North American region.

Headquartered in Jupiter, Florida with satellite offices in New York City and Los Angeles, Float Left has announced plans to add an office in Toronto as a strategic step forward in strengthening its position and to provide local support for its clients in the region.

“Scott shares our values, customer focus, and drive for innovation. Additionally, his extensive experience within the cable industry coupled with his broad range of experience in both the US and Canadian distribution landscapes makes him an extraordinary leader for our team,” said Tom Schaeffer, CEO of Float Left. “Scott will be an essential asset for Float Left as we continue to grow with new products in new markets to be able to build stronger relationships with new and existing clients.”

“As a content distribution veteran for over 20 years, I have witnessed the industry undergo fundamental changes. Availability and quantity of content across multiple platforms with increasingly fragmented viewership is upending the traditional business model,” said Scott. “I’m looking forward to combining my experience with Float Left’s award-winning solutions as we look to help broadcasters and content owners launch their direct-to-consumer video services.”

Prior to joining Float Left, he held several roles within the multi-channel industry. Scott is a growth focused leader and most recently served as VP, Distribution for AMC Networks. In this role, he was responsible for building and executing the distribution strategy for AMC Networks, which included AMC, AMC Canada, WE, IFC, Sundance, and IFCe. He led West Coast and International sales distribution for AMC and handled negotiations, contract compliance, marketing partnerships and customer relations for the cable, satellite and telco business. He has extensive experience in negotiation and execution of new & existing long-term affiliate distribution agreements among major video and content service providers, including DirecTV, AT&T, Rogers, Bell and others. Scott will be leading Float Left in driving revenue opportunities and building partner relationships in the TV Everywhere and OTT video markets.
