Mumbai-based TravelXP’s CEO Prashant Chothani has confirmed that his travel and lifestyle channel will launch a Ultra-HD service in February 2017.

This week sees TravelXP launch a Tamil-language version to add to the Bengali version already on air. The Bengali version is already on air on Tata Sky, Dish TV, Videocon d2h and Airtel, and leading cable networks like Hathway Cable & Datacom, InCable, Siti Cable, GTPL and UCN.

Additionally the channel is available to viewers in the US, MENA region and Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda, Malawi and Rwanda by tying up with Africa’s AzamTV network.

Chothani is acknowledged to have invested more than $2 million in creating its own in-house UHD content, and has been a frequent expert speaker at MIPtv and MIPCOM on the challenges and benefits of producing UHD material.
