Italian DTH satellite platform TivùSat is to screen a special UHD presentation, Tonight at St Peter’s, a documentary about the Vatican’s St Peter’s in Rome on December 27^th.

The production is directed by Alberto Angela and traces the history of the magnificent St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome by accessing previously inaccessible parts of the historic building.

Italian public broadcaster RAI and the Vatican Television Centre produced the documentary, which will be aired on RAI’s 4K channel available on TivùSat.

RAI is ramping up its UHD output and in October transmitted a drama series Medici: Masters of Florence in UHD (and which starred Dustin Hoffman and Richard Madden). Earlier this summer it screened the final games in the Euro 2016 football tournament in UHD.
