February 2, 2017

In a deal that it says strengthens its position as market leader in media monitoring in Ireland, media intelligence specialist Kantar Media has acquired multi-channel media monitoring provider Newsaccess.

With the acquisition, Kantar Media enhances its reputation, PR monitoring and evaluation capabilities, bringing to clients an expanding set of insights and expertise into earned media.

“This acquisition illustrates the importance of the Irish market to our business,” commented Andy Brown, CEO and Chairman Kantar Media. “With it, we strengthen our media monitoring capabilities whilst continuing our strategy to provide the most accurate intelligence on media consumption, performance and value.”

“Through the deal, Newsaccess places our Irish business in a strong position to continue to grow and expand in this increasingly international market,” added Andy Brown, CEO and Chairman Kantar Media.

Newsaccess was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in Dublin. The company uses its PR monitoring and analysis tools to enable clients to track and evaluate press, broadcast and online content quickly and analyse results of PR spend.

“We’re delighted to be able to leverage the breadth of Kantar Media’s capabilities for our clients in Ireland,” declared Stuart McHugh, CEO of Newsaccess. “As a business, we’ve experienced strong growth throughout our 12 years, and we look forward to continuing that journey as part of Kantar Media.”

This acquisition is the latest move from Kantar Media to deliver clients connected intelligence across all media forms.
