Vodafone Spain is set to launch a new set-top-box with TiVo and 4K technology integrated in the device, manufactured by French company Sagemcom.

The device will allow the user to record TV content (up to 350 hours) and keep it in the cloud available then view it on any other STB in the home.

It will also enable users to watch 4K content through services including Netflix, and Paquete Futbol, and channels such as Odisea 4K, Slow channel, Festival 4K and Fun Box.

Meanwhile Vodafone Deutschland is debuting its 4K platform GigaTV on its cable network. GigaTV is based on Cisco’s Infinite video platform and gives access to 120 TV channels, 55 catch-up portals, and a VoD service with over 3,000 movies as well as apps.

An integrated recommendation engine highlights content from the platform and other providers such as Sky Deutschland or maxdome.
