The new role of Director of Sales for Middle East, Russia, CIS and CEE at Friend MTS (FMTS) will see Maddocks realise the huge opportunities for the Company in these new regions, which are central to its ongoing strategy to deliver its pioneering content protection services and anti-piracy solutions worldwide.

Before Cisco, Maddocks worked at NDS, the specialist pay TV security and middleware company that played a leading role in conditional access and middleware on some of the world’s leading platforms including Sky, DirecTV and Liberty Global.  During his 15-years at NDS, he was tasked with taking its products into Russia and Eastern Europe.

FMTS delivers its platform, channel and content protection services to almost all of the world’s major pay-TV operators, broadcasters and rights holders to control where their video content flows for both live and non-live content across broadcast and OTT.

Its CEO Jonathan Friend explains: “Our unique content protection services are already provided to some of the world’s largest broadcasting platforms, and with growing interest from broadcasters in the region, it is important to have specialists that understand the market and culture.
