SpotX boost for OVGuide catalogue monetisation

March 20, 2017

Multiplatform on-demand video service OVGuide is partnering with inventory management platform SpotX to monetise its catalogue of long-form video content on connected TVs.

OVGuide’s movies and TV content, which can be found on Roku, Apple TV and smart TVs, is being made available via SpotX’s programmatic enablement and ad serving technology, giving buyers exclusive private marketplace access to highly-sought after, long-form OTT inventory. SpotX’s Curated Marketplaces and Demand Facilitation team will provide bespoke buying options and efficiencies for advertisers.

“The number of agencies and brands looking for long-form OTT content has exploded over the past six months,” said Ryan Kenney, SpotX’s VP, Platform Services. “Through the work of SpotX’s Demand Facilitation team, we’ve created a Curated Marketplace specifically for long-form CTV content to better streamline direct buyer access. OVGuide has seen a strong uptick in business as a result of being involved in this Curated Marketplace and other direct and programmatic buying options through SpotX’s platform.”

OVGuide – a subsidiary of Alki David’s FOTV Media Networks – currently powers over 25 Roku ad-supported video on demand (AVoD) movie and TV channels, of which 15 are owned-and-operated channels. The multiplatform service is also known for offering search of all online video content, one of the biggest sites of its kind. Its Android, iOS and Roku apps have been downloaded millions of times by users around the world.

“Through strong data technology, leveraging programmatic ad buying and the robust macro data that Roku enables on its platform, we can offer advertisers targeting across high value digital video streams,” said Thomas Dodson, OVGuide’s VP of Operations. We’ve amassed a large catalogue of premium content, and we’re looking forward to driving monetisation with SpotX.”
