Edgeware joins Streaming Video Alliance

March 24, 2017

Edgeware, a specialist in TV content delivery networks (CDN), has joined the Streaming Video Alliance. The Alliance is a member-based industry body that develops, publishes, and promotes open standards, policies, and best practices that foster collaboration within the streaming video ecosystem and support continued consumer adoption.

Through its Alliance membership, Edgeware will be joining media leaders including Sky, IBM, Cisco, Intel, Fox Networks, Nokia, MLBAM, Comcast and NBCUniversal to help create best practices for online video going forward.

Discussing Edgeware’s decision to join the Streaming Video Alliance, CTO Göran Appelquist said: “As online video consumption continues to grow, ensuring quality, both in terms of production values, and delivery is becoming increasingly important. With our pioneering TV CDN technology, we bring expertise to the Streaming Video Alliance in delivering the best possible online viewing experience, while eliminating buffering, delays and glitches.”
