Kino Polska TV revenue boosted by movie channels

Poland broadcasting company Kino Polska TV has announced its 2016 year-end results. The Group reported revenues of nearly 114 million PLN (€26.7m), with the EBITDA exceeding 48 million PLN.

The Group’s sales revenues increased by 6 per cent comparing to the previous year. This was primarily as a result of the revenue growth generated from broadcasting movie channels and thematic channels.

At the end of 2016 Kino Polska TV ranked as the eighth largest television group in Poland with an average audience share of 1.90 per cent (SHR 16-49 in December 2016, including the terrestrial channel Stopklatka TV which is broadcast by a company jointly controlled by Kino Polska TV). Throughout 2016 Telewizja Kino Polska channel reached an average audience of more than 23 thousand viewers (AMR 4+), an increase of 3.6 per cent comparing to the 2015 results. The channel reported 0.36 per cent SHR of total audience and a similar result across the 16-49 commercial segment.

Zoom TV, a brand new terrestrial channel in the Group’s portfolio was launched in October 2016 in Poland. The network is broadcast by Cable Television Networks & Partners, a company controlled by Kino Polska TV. In its first broadcasting weeks Zoom TV achieved promising viewing results and reported steady growth trend: 0 per cent SHR increase in the commercial group for December 2016 in comparison to the previous month. SPI International BV is the majority shareholder of Kino Polska TV.
