Sunset+Vine to produce BT Sport America’s Cup coverage

May 26, 2017

Sunset+Vine, the UK-based TV sports production and media company which is part of the Tinopolis Group, will produce BT Sport’s coverage of the America’s Cup. Starting May 26th, BT Sport will be showing 22 days of coverage from Bermuda exclusively live in the UK.

Sunset+Vine will have a team of 30 working on the production in Bermuda, for what is a highly anticipated event which will see sailing legend Sir Ben Ainslie attempt to bring the oldest trophy in international sport back to British waters with his Land Rover BAR team aboard their foil-borne, wing-powered carbon fibre America’s Cup catamaran. TV presenter Clare Balding will anchor BT Sport’s coverage with double Olympic gold medalist Shirley Robertson supporting.

Andrew Preece, Executive Director at Sunset+Vine, says: “This America’s Cup is shaping up to be one of the most exciting and unpredictable in recent history. The boats jet around on foils at motorway speeds, the coverage – with its LiveLine superimposed graphic ‘pitch’ – makes the racing easy to understand, and Britain has a real chance of bringing the Cup back to British shores for the first time since it all began back in 1851. And so we are very proud at Sunset+Vine to be producing the coverage for BT Sport.”
