IHS Markit, a world leader in critical information, analytics and solutions, is pleased to welcome Fateha Begum as principal analyst for telecom operator strategy. Fateha will be responsible for oversight of the tracking and analysis of key trends across television media, online media and operator multiplay strategies, with specific focus on the changing behaviors of video consumption and their impact on telco strategies.

Fateha brings a wealth of experience in the industry, having spent the last three years at telecommunications provider Sky UK, where she spanned Sky’s portfolio of set-top box (STB) and over-the-top (OTT) on-demand services including NOW TV, Boxsets, Sky Q and Sky Go. During her tenure at Sky, Fateha worked on a range of strategic projects including scoping channel personalization and content recommendations and developing growth strategies for the Sky Kids and TV apps.

Prior to Sky, Fateha was a member of the television media team at IHS (now IHS Markit), where her work encompassed the TV Media, Home Entertainment and Broadband Media Intelligence Services. In this role, she built extensive pay-TV on-demand models that covered more than 50 countries and provided detailed breakdowns at the operator level.

A frequent speaker at industry events and a key contributor to ad hoc consultancies, Fateha regularly liaises with Hollywood studios, TV operators and broadcasters. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Royal Holloway University of London, UK.

Said Maria Rua Aguete, Director of TV Research at IHS Markit: “I’m very excited to welcome back Fateha Begum to the team. Her industry knowledge and experience at one of the world’s leading pay-TV operators will further enhance the value of our media and operator research solutions for our clients.”
