BBC serves its most-streamed Wimbledon

The BBC served 24.1 million stream requests during Wimbledon this year via BBC Sport and BBC iPlayer, making it the most-streamed Wimbledon to date. The most popular match was Rafa Nadal and Gilles Muller’s 66-game epic with 1.4 million requests.
With more people streaming this year’s tournament than ever before, BBC Sport also saw record numbers of users signing in. During the second week of the tournament a weekly record of 2.1 million unique browsers signed into BBC Sport to take advantage of a more personalised service, including news alerts and a customised My Sport page for fans to put tennis front and centre.
BBC Sport’s wider digital coverage, which includes news, analysis, features and reporting, drew in 18.1 million unique browsers during the tournament. Of this, 9.2 million unique browsers were following BBC Sport’s live coverage, which includes live text reporting alongside live video streams.
