Playpilot recruits Mühle as new CEO

Playpilot, a video streaming guide in the Nordics, has recruited David Mühle as CEO to lead the upcoming expansionary phase of the company.
Mühle will initially focus on scalability as well as managing the coming expansion of Playpilot’s service. Playpilot recently announced its ﬁrst investment round from CoMade and is now looking to develop and grow its business further. Previously Mühle was at Ooyala where he was responsible for sales in EMEA. Mühle has 15+ years experience from the media and broadcast industry and has held leading positions at Videoplaza, Tradedoubler and Musicbrigade. He will also invest and become a shareholder of Playpilot.
Adam Chrigström, founder of Playpilot, and currently COO commented: “I got to know David years ago when he was VP of sales at Videoplaza and instantly felt that this is someone I want to work more with in the future. We’ve tried getting David to join our team for quite some time so we’re incredibly happy that he’s ﬁnally on-board, and the timing couldn’t be better. We are entering a new exciting phase where we will expand the team and start breaking new ground outside of the Nordics. To get someone with David’s international network and experience of turning small companies into big ones feels optimal.”
Playpilot is currently available in Sweden and Denmark but is planning to expand into new territories as well as release new apps for Android and iOS.
Mühle commented: “I have been following the company and using the service for a long time and Playpilot and the team has really done a great job in building a product that solves a big problem in helping me ﬁgure out what to watch, and where to watch it. Digital streaming is growing rapidly but so do the number of streaming services making it hard for the consumers to navigate all of the content. I believe a service like this will be needed in every market and I look forward to realizing all the potential I see in this company.”
